The Old Oak Tree

Many years ago, a family planted a tree, it was an oak tree. That tree was alive, it grew in less than 24 hours and started moving all its branches when children were around. That is how the rumour started, people say that the tree was haunted and tried to learn, it would tease the children and eat all the books that were in the oak trees reach. Many years passed and the family members had moved, the tree was lonely, no one has visited the tree for many years. But there are still rumours that say the tree has spoken words and all. One day the president decided to demolish the tree so he could build another house but none of the builders would go near the tree thats when the president felt disgusted in his workers and stormed out of his office taking a shovel with him.......

Late afternoon the president had made his way to the oak tree. Peering at the tree president george noticed the horses in the next paddick were going crazy, he started walking closer to the tree not thinking he stabbed one of the roots with the shovel suddenly the branches swung around and picked the president up. He was shouting so loudly he used all his breath then calmed down and yelled again
“ what do you think you're doing I am a very important person.”
The tree didn’t care he dropped the president straight in the hollow trunk .
Once the president started to wake up he was seeing things mainly eagles circling his head. He slowly stood up, still seeing things he walked over to a hole in the tree trunk he felt cheese or was he wrong was it sap he didn’t know. Slowly he sat down hoping that his mind would stop playing tricks on him but it didn’t stop he saw a brown kitten or was it a ball he couldn’t think straight so he closed his eyes and picked up the ball/kitten and felt it, it was actually an acorn a small brown acorn. Later that evening the president woke up he was also back to normal. Sadly he was sobbing he murmured quietly to himself “I miss my family and friends I want to go home” but he just couldn’t. Back at home his wife had sent out a search party trying not to give any hints to the children that their dad had gone missing instead she sat smiling and watching them play sports in the back yard. A few days had passed and the search party came back with no president the family cried and cried because they had to move out of the white house forgetting about their missing dad.

THE END the president was never found and the family
lived in a very ugly house from then on.

Swimming

I slowly step up to the edge gasping as the water rebounds on me, it feels like hail hitting me and only me. My teacher is telling me to jump but I slowly drift off not able to hear her voice.Suddenly its reality again I take a big breath and push my feet off the concrete edge. Splash!!!!. The water covers me like I was about be eaten, fast enough my toes touch the ground my exact instinct was to push off so there was no stopping me. Whoosh!!! the water lifts off my face I feel the air, the screaming everythings back. I WANT TO GO UNDER AGAIN!!!.

Last Summer

Have you ever smelled summer?
Sure you have,
Remember the dirty unfinished road we coughed and splatterd at, as we passed,
the steep hill we rolled down just to get to the beach.
Remember the smell of the salty air forcing us to go faster.
Remember our hot feet as we ran through the piles of sand,
the chafing our togs gave us as we sprinted, getting closer to the water.
That was summer!
Remember the first bit of water that touched your toes,
and as you run in deeper you feel the water rising shifting up your legs
Do you remember that?

That time you dived, the water started to flow through your hair.
Remember how you opened your eyes just before you took a breath
Remember that!
And how your mum called your name out to put some greasy sunblock on,
Remember the smell of it?

Remember the sound of your mum when she says its time to go,
the overheated car ride home.
Remember that?

Remember how you dozed off in the car’
how you were awaken when the car stopped to get an ice cream.
Remember the feel of the breeze blowing in your face you got out of the car,
or when you put you hand in the freezer to pick up your ice cream
Remember that?

What about your first lick, the sweet taste of refreshment spread through out your mouth.
Remember that?
or the sweaty seat you sat back on,
when the car started the burst of petrol flowed through your nose.
and finally when we were at home the sweet smell of your own home.
That was summer.
